Application:
1). Preservatives: Propionic acid and its salts are commonly used to inhibit molds and bacteria, and to prolong the shelf life of foods such as bread, pastries and dairy products.
2). Propionic acid is added to animal feed to prevent mold and improve storage safety.
3). Synthetic raw material: Used in the production of propionate (spices, solvents), cellulose propionate (plastics), pesticides and pharmaceutical intermediates.
4). Used in topical antifungal drugs and disinfectants.
