Application:
1). Geranyl acetate is used in rose, lavender, and citrus fragrances for perfume, soap, cosmetics, and detergents.
2). It is also used in over 60 food flavors, including apple, pear, berry, peach, and carrot.
3). It is a major constituent of lime oil. It occurs naturally in lemongrass, citronella, lavender, geranium, and rose.
Storage:
1). Geranyl acetate oxidizes in air. The terminal double bond breaks down. It also hydrolyzes over time.
2). Store in a refrigerator at 2–8 °C. Keep under nitrogen or argon. Keep the lid tight. Protect from light and heat.
3). The melting point is about 25 °C. In cool weather it may solidify. Warm the sealed bottle gently to room temperature and mix well before use.
4). Shelf life is 2–3 years under proper conditions.
