Application:
1). Fragrances & Flavors: Used in perfumes, skin care products and detergents as fragrance enhancers due to its fruity and slightly waxy aroma.
Edible flavors: used as food additives in the preparation of fruit-flavored beverages, confectionery and baked goods. Fats and oils substitutes: to simulate the taste of natural fats and oils in low-fat foods.
3). Drug carriers: Solvents or transdermal absorption enhancers for topical formulations.
Lubricant: Used for lubrication of precision instruments or under low temperature environment, due to low viscosity and low pour point (about -10°C).
5). Chromatography: used as mobile phase or standard for gas chromatography (GC) or high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
